Not coincidentally 30 years\nafter the establishment of legendary Norwegian black metal\nband Mayhem. Nor coincidentally 20 years after the release\nof their debut ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ - one of the\nmost influential black metal albums ever.            BRANDON\nSTOSUY: A Blaze In The North American Sky    As a writer (a\nnew book with Matthew Barney has just been released)\,\ncolumnist (Pitchfork\, The Believer\,..) and metal lover\,\nBrandon Stosuy is certainly no unknown to music and metal\nfans around the world.As a part of the IBM series taking\nplace in AB in early 2014\, we have asked Brandon to present\nan updated version of A Blaze In The North American Sky\n(2008) in the form of a reading. In this essay\, he gives us\na glimpse into what is referred to as the third wave of\nblack metal (US black metal).There will be a Q&A session\nfollowing Brandon's account. In it\, Brandon will share\nthe company of Terence Hannum from Locrian (who performs in\nthe AB Club that evening).
