You can hear ravey synths and booming beats\, but\nalso catchy hooks.’ (Lien De Greef aka Lady Linn aka\nLinn)Howie & Linn is a M/F duo from Ghent\, from which\nwe hardly need to introduce the voice (for those who have\nbeen living on Mars for the last twenty years: Ghent is the\nepicentre of the Belgium's nightlife\, with as principle\nexport products 2ManyDJs and The Subs). In the company of\nher Magnificent Seven\, Lady Linn has turned into one of our\ngreatest singers over the last few years. Last Autumn she\nand her trusted companion Howie Dunham put the finishing\ntouches on an album full of… synth-pop songs! In a\nnot-so-distant past\, producer Howie Dunham formed a part of\nthe band Skeemz together with Lady Linn. The unexpected\nsuccess of Lady Linn and her Magnificent Seven delayed work\non the second Skeemz album\, but the hours that Dunham spent\nin the waiting-room have proven to be exceptionally\nfruitful. New sound\, new name\, and Skeemz was rechristened\nHowie & Linn. The untitled debut contains eleven richly\ncoloured synth-pop songs that burst with playing-pleasure\nand to which you're just as likely to have to dance as\nsing-along. An album made by two best buddies but the sound\n– a strong mix of pop\, dance\, (nu)rave and even a touch\nof permissible eurotrance here and there – is totally\n2010\, totally NOW. The album was mixed by Alain\n'BC' Croisy (Felix da Housecat's right-hand man)\nand will be released on 5 April by NEWS. Live\, Howie &\nLinn will be accompanied by Isolde Lasoen (drums)\, Jan\nGoossens (bass) and Luc Vermeir (keyboards).    With the\narrival of the The Peas Project\, this night will be a\ndelicious double-bill. The 11-member band from Brussels has\nalready turned the stages of Couleur Café\, Esperanzah and\nthe Brussels Jazz Marathon upside down with their infectious\nmix of funk\, afrobeat\, pop and electro.
