Behind Birds That Change\nColour you will find a frontman with a fantastic name: Koen\nKohlbacher. He's supported by good folks like Zita\nSwoon-bassist Christophe Albertijn\, drummer Dave Schroyen\n(Millionaire) and the ladies from Laïs. Just to conclude: a\nquote from De Morgen that describes their album track\n‘Woods’ “as if Kohlbacher is sauntering through a\nfairy-tale forest full of talking trees.”. Fairy-tale\nforest? Leading English mags like Mojo\, Q and Uncut\nsoon gave her debut 4-star reviews. Rightly so too\, as this\nmulti-instrumentalist writes gems of songs and\, what's\nmore\, she can sing superbly too. Hannah Peel moves in\nfolk-pop circles but don't be surprised if you suddenly\nhear a song by New Order (‘Blue Monday’)\, OMD\n(‘Electricity’) or Soft Cell (‘Tainted Love’) when\nshe plays live. But then played in Peel's own way\, as\ncan be heard on her debut EP ‘Rebox’ (where she reworked\nher favourite 80's songs). Both her debut and her EP\nwere released on Static Caravan\, the label that already\noffered us Tunng (present at the Feeërieën in ’05). For\nthat matter: Tunng-member Mike Lindsley sat behind the dials\nfor the production and Nitin Sawhney provided the string\narrangements. Hannah Peel?
