As this is a delicious\nfunky surprise. fDELUXE are so named because they used to be\ncalled The Family and were no longer allowed to be.\nForbidden by godfather Prince? Apparently. But what they\ncan't mask is that immediately recognizable tight sound\nà la Prince & Co: singer Susannah Melvoin is - amongst\nother things - the sister of Wendy (& Lisa); St Paul\nalias Paul Peterson has played with the likes of The Time;\nEric Leeds we know from that masterful instrumental Madhouse\nPrince project\, amongst other things\, and Jellybean\nJohnson (also to be seen in the Purple Rain film) is\nundoubtedly one of the most impressive\ndrummer-guitarists!Any further hints? You can also find the\noriginal version of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’\, that\nSinéad O'Connor hit\, on their 1985 debut CD and\nSusannah is also co-author of the much appreciated\n‘Starfish And Coffee’ (also known here in the Bart\nPeeters version!)So fDELUXE it is from now on… and at the\nsame time\, finally\, with new CD 'Gaslight' as\nstrong and varied visiting card.This concert is\, of\ncourse\, a part of the AB project 'Minneapolis\, Mon\nAmour': this musical clan's original homebase (St\nPaul is even named after Minneapolis' 'twin\ncity' but you knew that already\, of course\, didn't\nyou?)Where does the name fDELUXE come from then?
