SUMMARY:Dez Mona feat.BOX:Sàga + Black to Comm
LOCATION:AB Salon - zittend (Steenstraat 11\, 1000 Bruxelles)
DESCRIPTION:7:00 pm - SOUNDTRACK BY ... Owl Jolsons 8:30 pm - Black To\nComm (de) “Black To Comm staat op eenzame hoogte in de\nwereld van de soundscape artiesten.” (Gonzo Circus)“An\nevil twin of Philip Jeck or Leyland Kirby” (Pitchfork)\nBlack To Comm is Hamburg resident Marc Richter (not to be\nconfused with Brit Max Richter). His musical habitat\nmanoeuvres between ambient\, drone and modern classical. His\nsound sources are not only field recordings but also\ncrackling vinyl - “I love the sensitivity of vinyl.” -\nand dusty cassette-players. He's been releasing albums\non his very own Dekorder label since ’03. When the\nrenowned Type Records label released his album ‘Alphabet\n1968’ in ’10 he was suddenly internationally launched\nand lauded. Pitchfork praised him with a 7.8 and wrote\n“Alphabet 1968 is an adventurous\, intriguing listen”.\nHis latest album ‘Earth’ (the score for a silent film)\nwas released via De Stijl. 9:45 pm - Dez Mona feat. BOX:\nSàga (be) “Dez Mona verwondert\, verbluft en verrukt met\nopera 'Sága'.” (De Morgen) ‘Sága’ - the\ngoddess of history – is the blatantly impressive opera by\nour favourite union Dez Mona and the baroque ensemble BOX.\nDez Mona's central figures – Gregory Frateur and\nNicolas Rombouts – wrote an entirely new œuvre especially\nfor ‘Sága’. Baroque ensemble BOX (Baroque Orchestration\nX) added a number of typical baroque instruments to the\nwhole\, including viola da gamba and the theorbe. In Belgium\nthis project could only be seen in a number of prestigious\nvenues\, such as deSingel and Flagey\, but it's now at\nthe Feeërieën once again – as its far too good. Dez Mona\n& Box have created a positively perfect\, fairy-tale and\nintimate musical universe with ‘Sága’. Jeroen\nOlyslaegers provided the story for it and fashion designer\nVeronique Branquinho provided the costumes.
