DOLAN + LAURA\nDOCKRILL    8:00 PM - Laura DockrillPretty much the first\nperformance by poet/spoken word performer/illustrator Laura\nDockrill outside of her homeland UK. She graduated several\nyears ago from the famous Brit School of Performing Arts and\nis close with both Scroobius Pip and Kate Nash\, for whom\nshe provides artwork and merchandise. She was hailed by Elle\nas ‘One of the Top 20 hot faces to watch for 2010’ and\nby The Times as ‘one of the top ten literary stars of\n‘08’. Her books 'Mistakes in the Background' and\n‘Ugly Shy Girl’ are highly recommended. Laura Dockrill\n– who has now buried her alter-ego DOCKERS MC – is\nexceptionally exciting as live performer\, where she\nconstantly borrows from the hip-hop culture. Dockrill\ntalking about that: "By keeping a rhythm and keeping\nyour flow interesting that's going to help your audience\nstay involved\,". Be sure to expect Laura Dockrill as a\ntheme through this evening. 9:00 PM - B. DolanMaster\nperformer B. Dolan is no unknown to the AB. He already\nappeared here in ’08 with his mate Sage Francis\, on whose\nStrange Famous Records he also resides. His\nsoon-to-be-released latest album ‘Fallen House\, Sunken\nCity’ was produced by indie beatsmith Alias (see:\nAnticon.). California's Urb wrote of him: “it’s a\nhard hitting in-your-face type of jam\, attacking corporate\ndouchery and the like over Alias’s drum-heavy boombap\nproduction”. He debuted as slam poet in New York's\nNuyorican Poets Cafe\, a handful of albums generated ever\nimpressive reviews in the hip-hop underground. He's\nalready toured with kindred spirits like Sage Francis\, Sole\nand Buck 65. To round up\, even more name dropping? B. Dolan\nis also known under his alter-ego’s Bombzo Way\, Bombzo\nthe Clown and Evel Knievel. But\, phew\, you can just call\nhim Bernard too. 10:00 PM - Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip\n(uk)We're already a fan of the name in itself: Dan Le\nSac vs. Scroobius Pip! Lets start with a piece of trivia:\nThe alter-ego of rapper David Peter Meads is a deliberate\n‘mis-spelling’ of the poem by Edward Lear (The\nScroobious Pip). Their combination of humour\, poetry\,\nlaptop and hip-hop produces an idiosyncratic mix. One that\nhasn't remained unheard: the singles 'Thou Shalt\nAlways Kill' (all together now: “Nirvana? Just a\nband!. Radiohead? Just a band!”)\, and 'Letter From\nGod To Man' (based on a Radiohead sample) did well on\nthe radio. Humour you say? In order to promote their debut\,\nthey took part in the selections for The X Factor. Scroobius\nPip auditioned before a jury consisting of Simon Cowell and\nSharon Osbourne. The clip of this made it into Q’s Top Ten\nClips of ’08. Even if it was fake. Their second album\n‘The Logic Of Chance’ is soon to be released\, with the\nsingle ‘Get Better’ as forerunner.    Oh yes\, in the US\ntheir album is released via Strange Famous Records\, the\nlabel on which B. Dolan also resides... and Laura Dockrill\nis a fan! So\, hey\, the circle is complete!
