Sometimes pompously megalomanic\, then other times\nvulnerably intimate\, but always unpredictable: that is/was\nDaan. Up until now\, appearing in a combination of cynical\nlyrics with extremely danceable electronic music. From\n“Housewife” by way of “Swedish Designer Drugs”\, to\n“Victory” of “The Player”. Always as a variant on\nthat typical Belgian surrealism.Daan’s latest CD\n“Manhay”\, with the hit single “Exes”\, provides a\nradical turnaround in sound. Completely live – no synths -\nno beats - pure wild and emotional music with Daan’s dark\nvocals up front. More personal than ever and as\ncharacteristic as a black & white product of his own\nlyrical environment. Returning to the source\, without\nlosing his typical personal manner of song writing.
