SUMMARY:Customs + Waldorf
LOCATION:AB Club - staand (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:COCA-COLA SESSIONS\, this concert series in the ABClub\ncouldn't have had an easier name. As of the\n'09-'10 season\, our refreshing structural partner\,\nwhose name is hidden in this title\, will be providing 10\n(ten!) extra club concerts to support young (inter)national\ntalent. All that for a beautiful and young audience. As a\nplatform for new music\, we can only applaud this\ninitiative. An adventurous dive into the great pool of\nmusical talent on the eve of a grand career. You want to\ndiscover the performers to be closing Rock Werchter of\nPukkelpop within a few years\, today already? Then don't\nmiss any of the Coca Cola Sessions in the ABClub and relive\nyour night out afterwards\, thanks to an ABSession on our\nwebsite.The start of this concert series will take place on\nSunday 1 November and with none less than Belgian sensation\nCustoms on stage. The band is currently scoring pretty much\nthe darkest summer-hit of 2009\, as ‘Rex’ has been in\nStudio Brussel's Afrekening for almost 20 weeks in a\nrow\, and French-speaking counterpart Pure FM has discovered\nthe band too. This new-wave indebted song has created\nhigh-expectations for Customs' debut\, which will be in\nstores at the end of October. Their solid Pukkelpop concert\nwas certainly a fine forerunner. In 2005 Waldorf let his\nfirst LP loose upon the world. The untitled album combined\nloud guitars and catchy pop melodies\, with Wolf's\ndistinctive voice poured over them. In November 2008\, more\nthan 3.5 years after the first album\, Wolf dived into the\nstudio with Bruno Coussée (bass) and Steve\nSoulwax’Slingeneyer (drums). ‘Twelve Seconds to None’\nis far removed from being the frivolous follow-up to the\nuntitled debut of 2005. The new Waldorf album sounds a lot\ndarker than its predecessor because Waldorf is angry\,\ndisappointed and frustrated and could find little reason to\nwrite an album full of catchy pop songs this time around.\nWhereas the first album was clearly pop-inspired\, anno 2009\nwe get a Waldorf that goes from daring stoner to progressive\nrock\, with even a dash of gypsy or singer/songwriter here\nand there. \n\nhttps://www.abconcerts.be/en/agenda/customs-waldorf/a105J000001wgbyQAA
