DESCRIPTION:Camera Obscura from Glasgow has been working on its career\nfor more than 10 years now and today it appeals to more or\nless the same audience as city-mates Belle & Sebastian.\nThe band has been raising eyebrows with single ‘French\nNavy’ and their timeless sound on the brilliant brand new\nalbum ‘My Maudlin Career’. Here too\, as witnessed by\nimpressed press: ‘In Tracyanne Campbell’s voice resounds\nin fifties sentiment\, sixties soul and the glamour of\nHollywood’s Golden Years\, like the forthright rough edges\nof indie-poppers Stars and the two-ness of the tender Belle\n& Sebastian’ (Humo). By the way\, in 2001 Belle &\nSebastian’s Stuart Murdoch sat behind the dials for the\nCamera Obscura debut ‘Biggest Bluest Hi-Fi’. Mojo\nMagazine best described the sound of ‘My Maudlin\nCareer’: ‘Her Dusty-meets-Nancy tones glides as\nimperiously over violin-caressed opener 'French\nNavy' as on lustrous indie-country upgrade 'You Told\nA Lie\,' reaching sublime levels of heartache on the\nSpectoresque title track’. Lovers rock in the year 2009!  \n Support act will be Magic Arm from Britain\, the one-man\nproject of Marc Rigelsford from Manchester. Just like Beck\,\nthe Beta Band or Adem\, he's a strange soul who knows\nhow to fuse folk\, rock and sparkling electronica into an\nauditive colour chart.
