On 'Metamorphosen' he plays an own piece\,\nthe easy going and somewhat zigzagging\n'Jabberwocky'. There are also compositions from his\nband members. They're pieces that have often been played\nlive. There are pure ballads\, such as the masterful\n'The blossom of parting' and 'The last\ngoodbye'\, on which he plays soprano sax in an exquisite\nmanner. On tenor sax he has a full\, assertive and\nblues-drenched sound\, just like Monks\n'Rhythm-a-ning' that gradually ends up in a lazy\nblues mood. Drummer JEFF 'TAIN' WATTS colours each\npiece differently. He can be explosive but can also give the\nmusic drive with tight strokes and precise accents. Bassist\nERIC REVIS has unshakable timing and a deep\, full sound.\nJOEY CALDERAZZO plays both delicately and exuberantly. The\nway that these musicians converse is refreshing.
