Something for those\nwho also get a kick out of Ali Farka Touré\, Tinariwen and\nother driving desert-blues rock or masters like Santana and\nJimi Hendrix\, of course.Bombino\, alias Omara Moctor\, was\nborn around 1980 and has now almost finished his third CD.\nParticularly his second CD 'Agadez' has since become\na must-have (on the Cumbancha label.) At the same time there\nis also the Ron Wyman film of the same name\, from which the\nbrilliant local live-images below are taken.This is the\npulsing sound of the survivors of the Sahara and Sahel.\nBombino combines that with a huge charisma\, a sincere stage\npresence and a climax every time you blink.Your humble AB\nservant encountered Bombino at Womex 2011 and couldn't\nshut up about it.
