DESCRIPTION:Please note: this is a listening session\, not a concert!\nExodus was already Bob Marley's 5th album\, but it was\ncertainly the album with which he became a star worldwide.\nReleased a year after the attempt on his life\, in a\nturbulent time in Jamaican history and after he had left\nJamaica\, it became a manifest in which Marley calls upon\nthe Rastaman to break free from the oppression in which he\nhad lived until then.There are various international hits on\nthe album – which was recorded with The Wailers\, in the\nUK – and it is considered by many critics to be one of the\nbest reggae records ever made. In 1999\, Time Magazine chose\nExodus as the best album of the 20th century.    The session\nwill be introduced (in English) by Karel Michiels aka Jah\nShakespear\, writer (De Rasta Revelatie) and journalistic\njack-of-all-trades\, but mainly: big reggae fan and\nconnoisseur.    You can attend this free listening session\nby signing up via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (making\nmention of ‘Exodus’ in the subject title)    33 1/3 –\nClassic Album Listening SessionsThe idea behind Huis 33 1/3\nis as simple as can be: music lovers gathering to listen to\na 'classic' album - uninterrupted and in the most\nideal circumstances possible (technically\,\nsurroundings\,..) - always introduced by an adept of the\nalbum in question.The intention of this new series is to\noffer an alternative to the manner in which the musical\nexperience has evolved over recent years. By listening to\nstrongly compressed MP3s\, YouTube films\, or to sites like\nSpotify\, with small earphones or via laptop speakers we\nmiss out on essential elements of the music\, often without\nrealising it.Many albums were created as an artwork in\nthemselves and so deserve to be listened to in their\nentirety. A great deal of attention was often paid to\nobtaining the best possible sound quality\, the artwork\,\nthe order of the songs\, the mood of the songs and the\n‘story’ the artist wanted to involve the listener in. In\nmany cases\, no effort was spared to record the albums in\nthe best studios\, in order to make use of the best sounding\nmixing tables\, microphones\, pre-amps\, compressors\,\nreverbs\, etc...
