DESCRIPTION:Tickets at Bozar    Dub Be Good To Me         In the fall of\n2013 AB focuses on a new reggae sub-genre and its influence\nworldwide: dub. Just call it: the instrumental version of\nreggae. Dub came into being in 1968 – and so it's\nexactly 45 years old this year – thanks to the error (!)\nof one man: Osbourne Ruddock aka King Tubby. During the\ncompletion of a master tape\, he accidentally forgot to mix\nthe vocals into the whole. Dub (and versions aka\ninstrumentals) was born. To honour this symbolic date\, AB\nlaunches the series Dub Be Good To Me to provide an answer\nto the question: how (relevant) does dub sound in the year\n2013?        Bozar Electronic Arts Festival    Bozar is\ncollaborating with various partners for this 2nd edition of\nBEAF\, not only the Elektra festival (Montreal\, Can.) but\nalso AB have committed to presenting the broader field of\nthe digital arts.What this means is that AB will take on the\nprogramming of the Terarken Hall on Saturday.And what could\nbe better\, this year\, than coupling BEAF with the Dub Be\nGood To Me project and so bring the current cream of\ndub-influenced electronic music to Brussels.       \nWe'll be starting at 11:30 pm with a live-set from Bill\nKouligas. We know this Berlin-based Greek as\, amongst other\nthings\, label boss of the prominent PAN (from which Lee\nGamble and Helm are also to play at BEAF on this evening).\nHe came into contact with post-punk\, hardcore and new wave\nas a young guy\, but is also a great fan of dub. Be sure to\ncheck out the Dub-mix he recently made for The Boiler\nRoom.At BEAF he will play a live set that will launch an\nattack on your legs. Prepare yourself for a set full of top\nelectronica and deep basslines.        Burnt Friedman &\nJaki Liebezeit.    We know Friedman from Flanger\, his Nu\nDub Players project\, and his collaborations with the likes\nof David Sylvian. Liebezeit is the founding member and\ndrummer / ‘human metronome’ of legendary German\nkrautrock founders Can. Under the title ‘Friedman &\nLiebezeit’\, they've just released their 5th album in\nthe Secret Rhythms series and on it they again prove that\nthey are still operating at great creative and artistic\nheights with their mix of circular rhythm and subtle\nelectronica.        Next up are Terror Danjah vs. Champion:\nClash Of The Titans    What’s in a name! London's\nHyperdub label – brainchild of Kode9 and homebase to\nBurial – has dub in the blood and is living proof of the\ndazzling relevance of dub. Take a look at The Wire's Top\n50 of 2012 and you'll see Hyperdub-artists like Laurel\nHalo\, Dean Blunt\, DVA and Cooly G adorning the upper\nregions. Terror Danjah (a grime icon in the London\nunderground) joins forces with funky pioneer Champion\,\nunder the title ‘Clash of The Titans’. Diplo\, Four\nTet\, Skream & Benga are fans.        After that\, we\ndive deeper into the night with Deadbeat.    This Canadian\nartist (Scott Monteith to his friends) made a number of\nreleases on labels like ~scape and Wagon Repair before\nstarting up his own label Blkrtz (indeed\, named after Lee\nScrach Perry’s famous Black Ark studio) in 2010. He just\nhappens to live in Berlin too. The music makes you think\ndark dub reggae drenched beats\, digital dancehall and\nambient dubstep and it goads you to new heights in this trip\nfor legs and head.
