Ayo    Since the\nrelease of her first album ‘Joyful’ in 2006 (featuring\nthe very famous ‘Down On My Knees’)\, Ayo has imposed\nher style in the musical world. Her folk soul compositions\,\nwith their unique sound\, are influenced by a (very) wide\nrange of artists\, from Donny Hathaway to Bob Marley.    At\na crossroads\, she was born to a Nigerian father and a Gipsy\nmother\, grew up in Cologne and later headed to New York\,\nLondon and Paris.    After having won people’s hearts\nworldwide and sold more than 1.5 million albums\, she went\nto New York to record her fourth album. There she met again\nthe producer of her first disc\, Jay Newland (Norah Jones\,\nStevie Wonder…). Ayo is mainly a live artist\, which\nexplains why she recorded her new songs in just a few days\,\nsurrounded by some of the best American musicians (Larry\nCampbell\, Ira Coleman\, Charles Haynes\, Katie Kresek…).\nFor this opus\, she comes back to basics\, to the essence of\nher style: both sweet and powerful\, folk and soul\, with a\nlight touch of acoustic rap.    Ayo’s new album\n"Ticket to the World" has just been released by\nMotown France/Universal (October 7).
