DESCRIPTION:Over the last 15 years Axelle Red has proved time and again\nthat she’s one of the few artists able to couple\ncommercial success with the class of an international\nartist. Earlier this year\, her drive to explore untrodden\npaths resulted in the double album\, “Sisters and\nEmpathy”\, her first album sung in English\, which has now\nreached gold status. This album has showed that Axelle\,\nbesides being a true performer\, is also a first-class\nsongwriter. On the album\, which also includes material from\nTom Barman and Mauro Pawlowski\, she sings out against\nsocial injustice and the abuse of women. There’s not a\nsingle track that isn’t drenched in a raw\, sensual\natmosphere. Sisters & empathy is certainly a no\ncompromise album. The album looks like a book\, with a\nfascinating painting by Sam Dillemans gracing its cover. The\naccent is on the subject matter and its lyrical evocation\,\npackaged in a sultry musical melting-pot of raw soul. Like\nin 'Don't Want To Know'\, a John Martyn cover\,\nin which Axelle Red has never sounded so sensitive.\nFollowing on from the success of the sold out jubilee\nconcert in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp\, Axelle will be doing\na number of extra concerts with her great band in and around\nher home base\, Belgium.Then it’ll be time to take five\nand start preparing for the acoustic “Coming Home”\ntheatre tour in the spring of 2010 before once again Axelle\nRed starts touring abroad.                                  \n
