The band around singer Jasper Steverlinck placed\nitself in the spotlight again in the spring of 2007 with the\nsingle 'Words'\, which resulted in a series of\nsold-out concerts in 2008 (including the Main Hall of the AB\nin January ). In the spring of 2009 the band will be\nextending with an extensive theatre tour\, with an\navant-première in Mechelen on 16 January and a première in\nthe ABTheater on Saturday 17 January.    After their Rock\nRally final in 1996 (the grand crû year with Novastar\, Tom\nHelsen and An Pierlé) Arid was rightly offered a record\ndeal. In 2000 their debut 'Little Things Of Venom'\nwas released with the assistance of Piet Goddaer (Ozark\nHenry) and David Dewaele (Soulwax). The singles\n'Life' and 'Believer' immediately brought\nthe band to the attention of the greater public. In 2002 the\nfollow-up 'All Is Quiet Now' was released with the\nhit singles 'You Are' and 'Everlasting\nChange'\, but that very same year Jasper Steverlinck\nwent solo and scored a monster-hit with his version of\n'Life On Mars'\, with thanks to David Bowie for the\noriginal song and to the Kolacny brothers for the framework.\nHis solo debut 'Songs Of Innocence' was also a great\nsuccess.
