A lot has changed for this\nfull-blood Brit\, in barely a year's time. Calvi\nreleased her untitled debut with collaboration from the\nlikes of Brian Eno and under supervision of Rob Ellis -\nregular producer for PJ Harvey. The album was not only\nswamped with praise but\, additionally\, landed Anna Calvi\nin the famous BBC’s Sound Of 2011 chart (see too: Jamie\nWoon\, James Blake\, The Vaccines\,…). Vocally\, Calvi\nhovers somewhere between Patti Smith\, Edith Piaf and PJ\nHarvey. You have to admit: there are worse comparisons to be\nhad. For those desiring another lauding quote to close with\n… Humo\, on the album: “An album that alternates\nominous\, soundtracky mood songs with bluesy ghost songs and\nwell-aimed rock songs.” Convinced?    Support act is\nAmerican songwriter Grey Reverend. Grey Reverend – L.D.\nBrown to his friends – is no unknown for fans of The\nCinematic Orchestra as he has toured with the band as guest\nsinger. His first album ‘Of The Days’ was even released\non TCO frontman Jason Swinscoe's own label (Motion\nAudio). Daily Mirror about the debut: "An unsuspecting\ngem... One to Watch".
