DESCRIPTION:ANNB (Alva Noto + Blixa Bargeld) (DE)Einstürzende\nNeubauten meets Raster_Noton or: Neubauten frontman Blixa\nBargeld meets Raster_Noton chief Alva Noto (Carsten\nNicolai). Bargeld and Nicolai have been a 'fan' of\neach other's work for a while now. They've been\nworking together on various projects since '07 but it\nwas only last year that the duo finally got around to\ncreating something to leave for heredity\, together. Result:\nthe album 'Mimikry' on which Bargeld's\npenetrating voice (sometimes screaming\, sometimes crooning)\nperfectly blends with Carsten Nicolai's minimal\nelectronica. Alva Noto has worked previously with the likes\nof Ryuichi Sakamoto\, Mika Vainio and also Michael Nyman.\nFollowing a unique two-dayer with Neubauten\, last year\ncelebrating their 30 year existence\, now Bargeld is to be\nexperienced in a unique collaboration with visionary\nelectronica artist Alva Noto.    "Crystalline noise\nformations. phrases\, words\, syllables of pure sound\nisolated until normal sense disappears\, leaving new\,\nunexpected abstractions to emerge" (The Wire)   \nCindytalk (UK)Cindytalk has been active since '82\, with\ntransgender Gordan Sharp as only constant. In the early\nyears Sharp was associated with the 4AD label and could also\nbe heard on recording sessions by The Cocteau Twins and This\nMortal Coil. Following a long silence\, 'The Crackle Of\nMy Soul' (09) and also 'Up Here In The Cloud'\n('10) suddenly appeared on the eminent Editions Mego\n(see too: Emeralds\, Oneohtrix Point Never\, Bill\nOrcutt\,…). It was admittedly our first encounter with\nCindytalk but was instantly one which left a lasting\nimpression. Sate yourself on esoteric electronica\,\nambient\, noise & drones and Gordan Sharp on piano\,\nlaptop and minimal vocals.Intangible States (BE)Intangible\nStates is an audiovisual performance by electronica duo\nStray Dogs and Swiss video-artist Legoman (aka Yannick\nJacquet). The décor in which the musicians\n(cello/drums/electronica/guitar) almost seem to be hidden\nseems unique right away: projections upon several cubes\nresult in an apparent amalgamation of projection screens.\nThe music (just like the sober 'white' projection)\noften reminds us of the Raster_Noton collective\, so\nit's no surprise that Raster_Noton originator Alva Noto\nhas twittered about Intangible States. Just as it becomes\ntoo minimal\, an excursion to 'postrock land' is\nassured. A veritable experience live.Meat Beat Manifesto\n(UK)We have to admit that we'd already lost sight of\nMeat Beat Manifesto – the vehicle of Jack Dangers –\nquite a while ago. Dangers has been active since '87 and\ninspired performers like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy\nSlim to make the first breakbeat records. He's also\nmixed Depeche Mode and also Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie\nin the past. In '08 he suddenly appeared on Planet Mu\n(Venetian Snares\, Mary Anne Hobbs\,…) with\n'Autoimmune'\, thus joining the then growing wave of\ndubstep. Dangers about that: "I feel like dub has\nalways been part of my sound". Meat Beat Manifesto will\nbe backed with a video-installation by video director Ben\nStokes\, known from the likes of DJ Shadow's 'The\nHard Sell' tour.    SOUNDTRACK BY... THE WIRE\nSOUNDSYSTEM (uk)►►► DOMINO FACTS…Blixa Bargeld is\ncertainly no unknown to Domino. His flagship EINSTÜRZENDE\nNEUBAUTEN played twice under the Domino banner. The first\ntime in '04\, the second time in '05 when they\ncelebrated their 25th anniversary. Neubauten last year\nmarked their 30th anniversary with a two-dayer in the\nAB.Alva Noto is one of the founders of the RASTER_NOTON\nlabel that at Domino '07 received carte blanche by way\nof an expo ('Archiv Für Ton Und Nichtton) and presented\nshows by KANDING RAY\, OLAF BENDER and also FRANK\nBRETSCHNEIDER. The latter two names are the remaining 2 of\nthis minimal electronica label's 3 founding fathers.Just\none last thing: Cindytalk resides on the Viennese Editions\nMego that once sent Japanese laptop-artist Tujiko Norika\nalong to us. Cindytalk is not alone as transgender\, BABY\nDEE was also made-to-measure for that status at Domino\n'08.
