DESCRIPTION:It's already four years ago since we last welcomed Amon\nTobin to the AB (then with his Foley Room show for the 2007\nDomino festival). OK\, his cancellation at the Ninja Tune\ncelebrations in September 2010 was a bit of a blow for the\nfans but wanna bet he's gonna more than make up for it?\nThat's right\, after focussing on his hip-hop oriented\nTwo Fingers project for the last few years\, his new opus\n‘ISAM’ will now be released on May 23. Our favourite\nBrazilian sound-manipulator had already won his place in the\nElectronica Greats Hall of Fame (alongside Boards Of\nCanada\, Autechre and Aphex Twin) but with this new work he\nchanges direction again. On stage too.He redesigns the world\naround him and pushes the boundaries between psychedelica\nand science fiction\, between art and entertainment\,\nbetween sound-design and pop-music. This is quite simply his\nmost impressive album to date. He initially worked with\nmusic samples (‘Bricolage’\, ‘Supermodified’)\,\nafter which went on to distorting them beyond recognition\,\nthen later turned to everyday sounds (‘Foley Room’).\nWith 'ISAM' he goes a step further and processes\nnature sounds until they are again musically usable. An\nintellectually and emotionally profound piece of work that\nsurpasses even the most progressive dubstep productions.\n‘It has some of the most terrifying bass rumbles your\nsternum will feel this side of Hell’. Live too\, this is\nhis most ambitious project ever. This is going to be a\nfantastic visual journey for the audience\, with Amon Tobin\nbacked by a sort of 3D construction that completely\nincorporates him. What's more\, he'll be using video\nprojection\, computer graphics\, custom software\, real-time\naudio and pre-prepared sound elements for the live version\nof 'ISAM'. An exceptional piece of work that\ndefinitively crowns Amon Tobin as the King of Electronica.\nWhat's more\, 2011 is going to be a very busy year for\nTobin (who will also release a new Two Fingers album and a\nremix album of the Chaos Theory game soundtrack).We'll\nsee you live in the AB on Friday 10 June.
