The motto: achievement\nof a good musical neighbourship. Co-production of the\nÆthenor concert is the first feat of what\, in the coming\nseason\, will eventually result in a multiple-dayer between\nthe two houses. The Æthenor concert is a logical choice.\nBoth houses exhibit a great deal of respect for the work of\nStephen O' Malley. So it happened that O'Malley has\nappeared many times in the AB with bands like Sunn O))) and\nalso KTL (with Peter Reberg) and O' Malley's graphic\nwork was previously exhibited in the AB. The\nBeursschouwburg's link with this musical einzelgänger\nfrom Seattle was established by a fascination for the\nidiosyncratic and unusual theatre work of Parisian Gisèle\nVienne\, for whom O’Malley has regularly composed unique\nsoundscapes.Sunn O))) - frontman Stephen O'Malley\,\nVincent de Roguin (Shora) and Daniel O'Sullivan (Guapo)\nare the original post-modern incarnation of Æthenor.\nTogether they exhale shadowy abstract music that strongly\nleans toward a sort of cosmic alchemy of sounds. In the\nconcerts\, they take the listener along on a mysteriously\ndark trip\, one moment it's as calm as a flat sea at\ndusk\, the next it's almost deafening\, as if a volcano\nhas suddenly erupted.
