Was once one of the New African Poets but\nmeanwhile\, since 2004\, four CDs further in a personal\,\nserious career\, with his latest CD 'Château Rouge'\njust out on Barclay-Universal. New single 'Ma Jolie'\nis in any case just as brilliant as the best of Amadou &\nMariam and apparently this pedigree performer is now working\nwith none less than Papa Wemba (Congolese legend)\, Ezra\nKoenig (from Vampire Weekend)\, Primary 1 (the sensation\nthis year in London?)\, CocknBullKid (the sensation next\nyear in London?)\, Gérard Jouannest (mentor to Brel and\nGréco for years) and Gonzales (as a rather remarkable\nchoice of producer.) Also worth mentioning in passing is\nthat Abd Al Malik has also\, amongst other things\,\naccumulated three 'Victoires de la Musique' and\nbears the title of 'Chevalier des Arts et des\nLettres'!Just to let you know: this is someone who\nweighs his words\, hits the nail on the head and scores\nwell!
