Ode to Dutch electronica pioneer Dick Raaijmaker
Dutch composer, theatre maker and theorist Dick Raaijmaker (Kid Baltan) undeniably belongs to the groundbreakers of electronic and tape music, together with the likes of Morton Subotnick, Terry Riley, Delia Derbyshire, Edgard Varèse, Karlheinz Stockhausen,… .
Almost 60 years after Raaijmakers' first electronic compositions, Berlin resident Thomas Ankersmit presents a homage to his fellow countryman.

‘The music is, just like the electronic music of Raaijmakers, made entirely with analogue instruments (serge synthesizer, contact microphone, speaker and a tape recorder every now and then to modify tempo). The music consists pretty much entirely of various forms of feedback and a number of sinusoidal tone generators.
I’ve mainly oriented myself toward Raaijmakers’ electronic music from the sixties and the ideas behind it:
