Pop, folk, rock, chanson from Canada and Germany
Susie Asado is the musical project of Berlin resident and poet Josepha Conrad. She has been releasing her work, with a constantly changing cast, since 2007. ‘State Of Undress’ was just released at the end of August, on Germany’s Popup-Records. Her music is described as a cross between Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Jeffrey Lewis, Kimya Dawson and Marlene Dietrich. Susie Asado will appear in Huis23 as a trio.
The Burning Hell once began as the one-man band of Canadian ethnomusicologist Mathias Kom. Since 2011, his project has matured into a regular band and they have released 3 full albums, of which Live Animals was self-released earlier this year. You can expect a strong live show and hyper-erudite, humorous lyrics. So the comparisons to bands like They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Richman or The Mountain Goats are entirely justified. The Burning Hell will be touring this autumn as a duo.
Admittance is free of charge, but seats are limited, please register via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (making mention of ‘Burning’ in the subject title)
