Documentary about one of Britpop’s most important bands
documentary, 2014, Florian Habicht – 90 min. – o.v.
Sheffield, 1988, ‘The Day That Never Happened’. After a disastrous farewell concert in their hometown, PULP move to London, looking for success. During the 90s, they find world fame with anthems like ‘Common People’, ‘Disco 2000’ and ‘Baby’. In 2012 they return to Sheffield for their last British concert. The band plays one of their best concerts ever, exclusively for the recording of this film. Habicht has succeeded in sketching a funny, at times touching and bewildering image of the band based on numerous interviews with band members, close associates of Pulp and the ‘common people’ of Sheffield.
A must see for every music enthusiast.
