Great songsmithery, an impressively grooving sound and a voice box of reinforced concrete!
WHAT?
Royal Thunder thunders out of Atlanta, Georgia, at an impressive speed. Through the razed rock landscape, with a whopping classic-rock-meets-psychedelica-meets-blues-meets-stoner sound. They couple great songsmithery with a characteristic, loud grooving sound on their third issue ‘Wick’ (April ’17, Spinefarm Records). Royal Thunder’s (not so) secret weapon is frontlady/bassist Mlny Parsonz, whose reinforced concrete voice box sounds like Janis Joplin on steroids!
FOR FANS OF
Kylesa, Graveyard, Blues Pills, Baroness, Blood Ceremony, Kadavar, …
FUN FACT
Frontwoman Mlny Parsonz attributes Royal Thunder’s urge to experiment with a whole series of genres in their music to the fact that everyone in the band apparently has ADHD.
KING HISS
Granite stoner topped off by a phenomenal throat: King Hiss! This foursome sounds like the filthy bastard child of Sleep and Mastodon, conceived after a night strung out on MDMA & whisky followed by a beastly one night stand that none of the parties involved can later recall. Released a brilliant second album with ‘Mastosaurus’ (recorded with producer Ace Zec, who also manned the dials for Set Things Right & Off The Cross).
