Something for fans of the better singer-songwriter work
Brooklyn's singer-songwriter Kevin Devine has been musically active for 10 years now. 6 Studio albums and +2000 shows later, he now returns to Europe for an acoustic solo-tour. To kick off this tour, Devine will be playing in Huis23, a location befitting his introspective songs.
The tour of Europe and Russia is a welcome interruption to the work on his 7th album. After setting up a Kickstarter project in early January, he'd already achieved his intended sum on the first day. 5 weeks later, on the final date of the project, Devine had raised 114,805 dollars in funds from his fans! So he decided straight away to record not only an 8th but a 9th album, this time with the The Goddamn Band.
Keith Devine gains his inspiration from the bands of his youth: Nirvana, Pavement, The Ramones, REM, Elliott Smith and the Staten Island Hardcore scene, but he's also worked with Corine Bailey Rae and KT Tunstall and is sometimes compared to Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. The ideal artist to start the weekend with on a Friday evening.
Admittance is free of charge but seats are limited, please register via reservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (making mention of ‘Devine’ in the subject title)
