Charles Bradley : Soul Of America is the story of the unbelievable breakthrough of the then already 62year-old soul singer Charles Bradley, who - with his debut album - exchanged a hard life in the slums for a mention in Rolling Stone magazine's Top 50 albums of 2011.
Bradley, who was abandoned by his mother as a child, fought homelessness, illiteracy and violence. He had to deal with the murder of his beloved brother and overcome an almost fatal illness. He did all sorts of jobs, all over the country, and performed as James Brown imitator. All his life meanwhile dreaming of a glamorous musical career.
