Daniel Bachman + Resina

From American Primitivism to post classical. From John Fahey to 130701.

BRDCST is AB’s outstanding indoor spring festival spotlighting musical boundlessness. The name is a direct reference to the retro futuristic electronica-pop of the English band Broadcast that released inspiring albums like ‘Haha Sound’ and ‘Noise Made By The People’ over the past decade. Artists who feel strongly about musical innovation form the focal point for BRDCST. Our musical gut feeling will do the rest.

Liveurope concert:
The first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European music.

DANIEL BACHMAN (us)
Young acoustic guitarist Daniel Bachman has – despite his young age (25) – already established a very impressive oeuvre, with no less than 8 albums and counting. His John Fahey-like fingerpicking technique impresses and most of the songs have an intensity that you wouldn’t expect from someone his age. With influences from traditional blues, ‘Apalachian hill music’ and long raga/drone pieces, his work often stems from the ‘American Primitivism’ we know from the above-mentioned Fahey and artists like James Blackshaw, Leo Kottke and Jack Rose. Wonderful folky blues splendour that leaves none unmoved!

RESINA (Poland)
Discovered last year at Poland’s Unsound festival: the equally Polish cellist Resina who instantly won us over with her subtle and intense string play. Fat Cat’s post classical imprint 130701 was also so impressed by a demo she sent them that they instantly gave Karolina Rec (Resina’s real name) a spot aside labelmates like Ian William Craig, Hauschka and Jóhann Jóhannsson. To listen is to become spellbound.

Admittance is free of charge according to the principle of ‘first come, first served.’
This also applies to those with a Limited BRDCST Festival Pass.
