First classic by one of the best singer-songwriters ever
Please note: this is NOT a concert but a listening-session!
The session will be introduced in English by Kevin McMullan, Cohen fan and Press Agent at AB.
The first album by maybe the greatest singer-songwriter ever, Leonard Cohen, was an instant classic. ‘Songs of Leonard Cohen’ was released in 1967 and, almost 50 years later, is still one of Cohen’s most highly acclaimed albums. It also became the cornerstone for the rest of his career.
Songs like ‘Suzanne’ and ‘So Long, Marianne’ were Cohen’s first hits to breakthrough and caused his mix of folk and pop to catch on amongst a broader audience.
‘Songs of Cohen’ also inspired countless artists, from Nick Cave, Pixies, John Cale, Antony & The Johnsons to Sisters of Mercy, who all enthusiastically covered his songs.
All seats are taken for this session.
Admittance is free of charge but we do ask you to donate an amount of your choosing to the 'Kom Op Tegen Kanker' campaign.
