Rudy Trouvé talks with Marc Ribot
With more than 20 own albums and collaborations with greats like Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Robert Plant, The Black Keys and countless others, Marc Ribot is quite a star in the musical heavens himself. Ribot is famous worldwide for his very distinct guitar style and sound. Though there’s no corner to push him into, genre-wise. He’s played pretty much all styles of jazz, and from post-rock & noise all the way to an exotic excursion with Los Cubanos Postizos. Aside from that, Ribot is also an active member of the Content Creators Coalition, an organisation that lobbies for better remuneration of artists in the digital world. On Monday 1 February he appears on stage in AB for the third time. A not-to-be-missed concert by a master guitarist and inspired artist.
Prior to his concert, we will be able to interrogate him about his inspirations, the source of his unique playing style, the role of improvisation in his work, his vision on the music industry and the like. None less than our very own Belgian guitar hero, Rudy Trouvé,is to serve as sparring partner. Trouvé was once part of the fun with dEUS & Dead Man Ray, and has been the driving force behind the Heavenhotel label for 20 years now. By the way, he also happens to be providing the support-act, talk about a perfect match.
