At this 7th edition of All Connected Jenny Gräf will play a live set on, and provide explanation about, her Ciat-Lonbarde instrument. Peter Beyls will bring Hero Wouters with him. They’ll talk about their work, screens some fragments of their movies and each play a live set. And to make the evening complete, we'll be screening a number of short films by Lilian Schwartz, one of the pioneers of video- and computer art.

Jenny Gräf is an American sound, video and performance artist who has been active since the ‘90s.
Aside from musical projects like MV Carbon and Metalux, she has already worked previously with the likes of Chris Corsano (in Soliton), John Wiese, Twig Harper, Marcia Bassett and Chiara Giovando.
Gräf makes use of the Tranoe, an instrument that Peter Blasser of Ciat-Lonbarde developed especially for her and with which she can distort her voice, guitar sounds and percussion.
Gräf has already had her work shown in many great art houses, such as PS 1 MOMA, Issue Project Room, D’Amelio Terras Gallery in New York, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Maryland Film Festival, Mukha in Antwerp, Arnolfi in Bristol, Art Cinema OFFoff in Ghent, Institute for New Media in Frankfurt,….

Belgian artist / composer Peter Beyls has been working with computer language as an artistic outlet since the ’70s. He developed generative systems in order to realise his musical, visual and multimedia creations. After his studies at EMS (Stockholm), the conservatory of Brussels and University College London, he obtained his PhD in computer sciences from Plymouth University.
He already has many publications to his name, mainly in the field of digital media, computer driven compositions, real-time design, interface design and the application of artificial intelligence.
Peter takes Hero Wouters along. This Dutch composer, filmmaker and ‘noisephotographer’ makes the most exciting movies, music and performances. Peter and Hero work together since the early 70s. This evening and will enter into a conversation about their adventures in the past and present. They will show fragments of the ‘In Concert’ film of 1974, and from ‘Century Resonates Now’ (2013). Peter will bring a performance on his Synthi VCS3 and Hero on his Modified Korg MS20.

Artiest Lilian Schwartz is generally considered to be one of the pioneers of computer generated media art. Most of her ground-breaking projects date from the ’60s and ’70s, long before the use of computers was an obvious option. During this All Connected we will screen a number of her short films. The programme will be announced at a later date.
