Le 1er mars 2010 parût ‘Fire Like This’ des Anglais de Blood Red Shoes. Largement influencé par une ribambelle d'artistes underground américains comme Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Pixies et Babes In Toyland, le duo formé par Steven Ansell et Laura-Mary Carter rend, cette fois, d'autant plus hommage à l'éthique punk et DIY. Depuis leur base de Brighton, ils s'apprêtent à conquérir le monde avec leur mur de guitares, leurs salves de batterie et les roucoulades langoureuses de Carter. Une affaire à suivre !
Mike Crossey, qui a également collaboré au deuxième album des Arctic Monkeys, s'est une nouvelle fois collé à la production, après avoir assuré celle de leur premier opus ‘Box Of Secrets’. Une idée qui se révèle particulièrement judicieuse puisque HUMO voyait dans ce même premier album « une formidable collection de singles ». Vous connaissiez déjà ‘Say Something, Say Anything’ et ‘It’s Getting Boring By The Sea’ ? Alors, laissez-vous emporter par le nouveau Blood Red Shoes.

La première partie sera assurée par les Anglais de Pulled Apart by Horses. Le groupe compte actuellement trois singles et un EP à son actif et a été unanimement décrit par la presse britannique comme le grand sauveur de la scène art-punk. ‘Are these guys the future of British hardcore music in the UK? If they aren’t they bloody well should be’. (Drowned in Sound)
