AB has always had a soft spot for dubstep. Just remember previous visits from Skream (already from '07 ago!), Mary Anne Hobbs ('07), Pinch ('07), Mala (Digital Mystikz) ('07), Kode9 ('08), Benga ('08), Caspa & Rusko ('08) ? All of whom guaranteed explosively heated parties with a considerable crowd and wonderfully exciting ultra-deep 'woe-woe-woe-woe' sub-basses.
The genre has been on the map since releasing a number of impressive mix-albums. Remember the ground-breaking compilations from dubstep queen Mary Anne Hobbs (whose weekly BBC Radio 1 programme on Thursdays is highly recommended), the ?Dubstep All Stars? series or the compilations by underground UK-radio Rinse FM. Since the release of a few fully-fledged albums (think: Burial, Skream, Benga, Rusko, Distance, ...) there is absolutely no stopping the genre and dubstep's popularity has gone ballistic.
With thanks to Win For Life, the AB now organises a large-scale dubstep event twice yearly and in so doing we unite with colleagues from 'Untitled' (Trix, Antwerp) and 'Daily Dubstep' (Vooruit, Ghent). Also thanks to Win For Life, the ticket price is a treat too: for only 12 euro, you can get in and get it on ... till you drop!
