House rules
This is your first visit to the AB? You have been here before but you are not sure about? This is an overview of the house rules!
Concert postponed or cancelled?
If the concert has been postponed to a later date you do not have to do anything. Your ticket remains valid for that new date. In case of a cancelled concert your ticket will be refunded. If the ticket was bought at the AB we will refund it at the AB ticket shop or you can send it to Ancienne Belgique, Anspachlaan 110, 1000 Brussels. Do not forget to mention your name, address and account number. The amount will then be transferred to your account. Please note that tickets should be sent back within two weeks after the date of the concert.
Tickets
Tickets are non-transferable, except via AB’s ticket exchange system (to be found in the concert pages). Ticket buyers will abstain from selling tickets at usurious prices and/or a price that is higher than the presale price. When sold tickets should be on sale at usurious prices and/or a price higher than the presale price, AB can deny the ticket holder access to the concert.
Children
Children aged under 12 years (one child per adult) are allowed free entrance to concerts organised by the AB. If you would like to know whether a concert is being organised by the AB, please check the top of the concert page (Organisation). This does however not count for seated concerts in the ABTheatre (you can see this at the concert page) and concerts that are not being organised by the AB.
Smoking Ban in AB
Since 1 January 2006, it is no longer permitted to smoke in public places, so not in AB either. Because the AB Café and the StellABar are located in a publicly accessible building and are not separated from this public space, the smoking ban also applies here.
The Federal Department of Public Health, Food-Chain Safety and the Environment carries out inspections now and then too, to verify that this smoking ban is in effect.
Vestiary
Go downstairs at the right side or the left side of the Agora. There you find the individual lockers. Unfortunately the number of lockers is limited. It is best to share lockers or to arrive in time so as to have more luck in finding a free locker, especially in wintertime.
Hearing damage
In accordance with the flanking measures of the charter relating to the limitation of hearing damage during musical activities, we hereby inform the audience that the sound level in the hall can exceed 96 dB(A). It is always possible for the audience to have the necessary means of personal protection at their disposal in the AB, earplugs, to provide effective reduction of sound levels.
Earplugs
If you think the concert is too loud, disposable earplugs are available free of charge at the various bars in the building. For the price of one drink token, re-useable earplugs are available from the dispensers in the Agora and at the entrance to the Club.
First aid
In case of a faint, nosebleed or another discomfort (or possibly more serious things) you can always call upon a steward. They are all trained to give you professional assistance.
Disabled people facilities
For people who use a wheelchair we have reserved places on the first balcony. You can always rely on the stewards to escort you to your place. If you need to use the toilet, the stewards will help you to get there too. We have provided a parking space just in front of the AB, on the Anspachlaan, at the CM-building.
Pets
For the sake of everyone dogs or other pets are not allowed in the AB.
Photo, video and audio
Photo, audio or videoshooting is prohibited. All equipment that can be used to shoot pictures or record sound are prohibited in the AB.
Rent the AB
You can rent the AB under certain conditions. All information on this subject can be found in the section hall rental.
Demos
Send your material labelled with the name of the band, phone number and/or e-mail address to: Ancienne Belgique, attn. Programming Service, Anspachlaan 110, 1000 Brussels. We listen to everything that is sent to us. If we want to arrange something we will contact you. You can always contact us to give your personal opinion but please allow us three weeks before you do so. Bombing us with phone calls, faxes or mails will not get your material on top of the pile.
