Country, of course. But Willie Nelson is so much more than a country icon by now. As proven by his latest American Classic CD: on Blue Note, bursting with timeless 'torch-songs' and 'standards', and with Norah Jones, Diana Krall… Just the sort of 'evergreen' excursions that this spirited American also already successfully perpetrated with his ground-breaking Stardust album (produced by Booker T)!
Willie Nelson is that striking figure with the long hair braids, together with the likes of Waylon Jennings he's one of The Outlaws, together with the likes of Kris Kristofferson he's one of The Highwaymen... Author of innumerable hits like 'Funny How Time Slips Away' and 'Crazy'... Even to be seen in films like The Electric Horseman, Wag The Dog, Gone Fishin'... Also releasing yet another well-filled compilation on 'Lost Highway' in between!
Otherwise, you're sure to know him from 'They All Went To Mexico' with Carlos Santana, or even from 'To All The Girls I've Loved Before' with Julio Iglesias...

Willie was gewoon fantastisch, ook z'n muzikanten. Hij wordt alleen maar beter met de jaren Het concert was echt de moeite. Thanks Willie

Super om Willie live te zien. Meer dan de moeite was het ! Wie kan dit nadoen zoals hij, op 76-jarige leeftijd nog steeds op het podium alsof hij nog jong is ?!?! Prachtig!! Zal mijn hele leven bijblijven! Merci, Willie

Icoon, legende, country, in levende lijve! Still on the road en hoe! De ultieme definitie van americana country! Ook op leeftijd (76) nog steeds in grote vorm! En een uitmuntende setlist! Er was duidelijk niet enkel mooi weer in 't land!

Yihaaa: met nu weer een nieuwe country cd uit en die heet Country Music, ziet er erg country uit en klinkt ook lekker country, dankzij ondermeer producer T Bone Burnett, en Buddy Miller en Jim Lauderdale en vele anderen (zoals de brave mensen van Rounder én Decca én Universal records). Merci, Willie.
