The long awaited debut by Wallace Vanborn received the title ‘Free Blank Shots’ and will be available from the better record stores as of Monday 8 February (TSR / [PIAS]). The album was preceded by the single ‘Atom Juggler’, which is taking over De Afrekening on Studio Brussel at this very moment. Wallace Vanborn powers on like a runaway train (as witnessed by their much appreciated support act to Therapy? in the ABBox in May 2009) and will hopefully stop in the ABClub on Thursday 25 March for a true Coca-Cola Session.

February 2006, Ghent was shaken to its foundations when lan Clement, Sylvester Vanborm and Dries Hoof first set foot on stage as the holy rock-trinity Wallace Vanborn. Stoner-rock unashamedly makes love to sexy, stripped electronica, a magical formula that provides the band with a solid live reputation and the nickname 'Pletwallace’ (steamroller). Humo speaks of a sound approaching the most overwhelming Kyuss, their first airplay on Studio Brussel is a fact, and on JIMtv the first single ‘Rite Hands’ camps at number 1 in the Pure Belgian chart for 8 weeks. Flanders soon becomes too small for Wallace Vanborn and - even before there is talk of a real debut album - the band starts performing in The Netherlands, England and just about every major city on the American west-coast during a 14-day tour.

The debut album from promising young Belgians Landfill will be released in March. The band learned the ropes in a garden shed, as young rascals impressed by the best of Radiohead and Muse. They were soon writing their own songs and gaining live experience during all sorts of competitions, including Music Live. After 2 EP’s (the first one of which resulted in a track on a Demopoll CD), Landfill have spent the past months in the studio recording their debut with Monza bassist Bart Delacourt. The advance single ‘Gentlemen’ has certainly already set a strong tone.
