7:00 pm SOUNDTRACK BY: BL13P DJ (B)

8:30 pm Deaf Center  (NOR)

“A haunting homage to the world of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti.”
“Echoes of half-remembered horror movies, love songs and the dark arts are crumbled together in a Norwegian cauldron to reveal something that at its heart is deeply moving and dare I say it, beautiful?”
(Boomkat)

At last, success: Norwegian duo Deaf Center will be coming down for the Feeërieën! We were already immensely impressed by their ’05 debut ‘Pale Ravine’, the gem of an album sounded dark, somber and filmic all at the same time. Musically speaking, they hover somewhere between ambient and modern classical. A closer look at Deaf Center reveals Erik Skodvin (also active under the moniker Svarte Greiner) and Otto Totland. Their latest album ‘Owl Splinters’ – as ever on their fail-safe homebase Type Records – sounds more classical with Totland's piano and Skodvin's cello now featuring more prominently. Skodvin is also still active through his impressive Miasmah label that, by the way, also houses a number of Belgians (Kaboom Karavan and Kreng). For now Deaf Center serves as the perfect opener.

9:45 pm Vladislav Delay Quartet (FIN)
Vladislav Delay Quartet is the latest flagship project for Fin – how ever did you guess – Vladislav Delay. Vladislav Delay reveals experimental electronica artist Sasu Ripatti, also active under the moniker Luomo. He became known in slightly broader circles through his involvement with the Moritz von Oswald Trio that just recently released a number of albums on Honest Jon's – Damon ‘Blur’ Albarn's label. He was also asked by Animal Collective to perform at All Tomorrow's Parties earlier this year. Now Ripatti has established his own jazz quartet. His quartet is an electro-acoustic ensemble with Ripatte on percussion and none less than Mika Vainio (ex-Pan Sonic) on the electronica. Their music has – what’s in a name – a dominant acoustic-jazz influence but noise, ambient and electronica trickle through in the all-round sound. Their debut will be released this year on Honest Jon's.

The Vladislav Delay Quartet concert is already a teaser for Arctic Accents, a Finnish-music festival that is to take place in AB in December (with a programme containing the likes of Kimmo Pohjonen and Värttinä).
