The Morning Benders comprises 4 young fellows who met in Berkeley, California. Their debut album ‘Talking Through Tin Cans’, which came out in 2008, was immediately tipped by iTunes as the best indie album of the year. With their sunny blend of baroque sixties pop, neo-psychedelica and a hint of Pavement-style indie rock, the band slipped effortlessly into support slots with the likes of Grizzly Bear and MGMT. Their second album ‘Big Echo’ was released in June on the famous Rough Trade label. A few days later, while the Marquee at Rock Werchter literally simmered, they put on "a beautiful performance by a group with a Future" (HUMO).

To round off the summer in an, uh, summery manner, the The Morning Benders concert on 28 September in the ABClub will be a sunny double-bill.

First single ‘Let’s Not Fall Apart’ immediately provided Broken Glass Heroes – brain-child of Tim Vanhamel and Pascal Deweze – with a solid radio-hit. On 20 September the duo will present the best of themselves in ‘Grandchildren Of The Revolution’, a surprisingly fresh album in which 14 energetic, nostalgic, sexy songs form an undeniably playful whole. After being asked to provide a suitable soundtrack for the now madly popular comedy series Benidorm Bastards, the two gents rather quickly came up with the Brian Wilsonesque ‘Let’s Not Fall Apart’ for the theme. At the request of the makers, the duo sought and found their inspiration in the sixties and seventies for the remaining tunes and jingles too. Aside from Pascal Deweze and Tim Vanhamel, the album credits also united musical veteran Marc Bonne (check out the credits on your Belgian albums) on drums, Sjoerd Bruil (Sukilove, Tim Vanhamel Band) on guitar and Hans De Prins (General Mindy) on keyboard, which instantly also clarifies the composition of Broken Glass Heroes live.
