The eighth album by rockers The Dandy Warhols - from Portland, Oregon - will be released in April. ‘This Machine’ was mixed by Tchad Blake (see too: the 2 recent masterpieces by The Black Keys). What's more, on the album we'll also be hearing a collaboration between Warhols' frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Bauhaus and Love And Rockets bassist David J. Those who have already managed to listen to ‘This Machine’ speak of their best work since ‘Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia’.

 
The Dandy Warhols have been active for 18 years now. That was of coursed coupled with quite a few ups and downs for the foursome. Around the turn of the century they had success with singles like ‘Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth’ and ‘Bohemian Like You’. In 2003, many fans fled from the LP ‘Welcome To The Monkey House’, mostly due to the many synthesizer sounds that were a part of the sound at that time - a result of the collaboration with Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes as co-producer. But with ‘Odditorium Or Warlords Of Mars’ (2005 ) and ‘... Earth To The Dandy Warhols’ (2008), the band is back in fine form.

Support-act will be the British duo AK/DK that combines electronica and thumping drums with an excessive amount of energy. It's landed them comparisons with Battles, Death From Above 1979 and Neu.

hmm vond het jammer dat het geluid zo slecht stond afgesteld, over de hele set lag een zompige bas-saus waardoor alles hetzelfde klonk... Had ze voor t laatst gezien in 1998 in Rotterdam, toen klonken ze stukken beter...

Stukken beter dan 2 jaar terug op de Lokerse feesten waar het nooit echt van de grond kwam. Zeer mooie en lange setlist.Van reeds bij het begin zat het constant goed op dreef maar met en na ' Bohemian like you ' barstte het pas écht goed los ! Na het laatste nummer floepten de zaallichten aan en begonnen velen reeds de zaal te verlaten.Ze hadden pech want de hardnekkigheid van het merendeel deed hen nog terugkomen met een bezwerende,meeslepende versie van ' Boys Better ' waarbij een tiental fans op het podium begonnen te dansen ! Een ware climax van een schitterend concert. Heb The Dandy's 3 maal meegemaakt en dit was veruit de beste keer !
