School of  Seven Bells probably doesn't – euh – ring any big bells here but this trio from Brooklyn is led by Benjamin Curtis. But we know Curtis from Secret Machines, the group he left in 2007 to concentrate on this project. Just recently they were one of the much talked about favourites of the CMJ showcase festival in New York. Their album ‘Alpinisms’ was released on the Ghostly International label (see too Matthew Dear or avant-hopper Dabrye – check respectively ‘Asa Breed’ and ‘Two/Three’ and you won't regret it – out here via Full Time Hobby/PIAS. In School Of Seven Bells, Curtis receives the assistance of the Deheza sisters who we in turn know from On! Air! Library! That resulted in top-class psychedelic dream-pop. Prog choral sixties song over a mix of whisper-afro-beat and contemporary pop. Anyone for Death Cab For Cutie meets Cocteau Twins?

Support-act will be the dreamy electronica of Petersonic, alter ego of Peter Baert from Brussels. His new album is called 'This Way' (successor to the 2005 release 'Touch #6') and it is bursting with electronica that has a heart and soul. Collages put together with an eye for detail, a unique mix of samples and live recordings that he then chases through a sampler. A method that he himself describes as Human Random.
