2 new albums presented by 2 new Belgian guitar bands

Rones (formerly The Rones) have just released their second album (but actually their debut under this name). With it the band based around Lenn Van Meeuwen ‘quickly left the stoner path and brought out an original, blistering record in which sparkling electronica and rasping guitars form a blissful marriage together’ (dixit goddeau.com).

Elvis Black Stars is the new star in the firmament of excellent live bands from across the language divide. Their single ‘Be Ready’ did extremely well and their debut album is finally due for release at the end of October (on PIAS). Elvis Black Stars first appeared on the scene in 2007 and its members are Augustin Dujeux (guitar and vocals), Damien Sorée (drums) and Olivier Coquette (bass). Their music is sheer power pop rock-’n-roll as we heard on an EP released in 2008 and produced by Loïc B.O. and Mr Regulah. Following supports for Hollywood Porn Stars, The Germans and The Von Durden Party Project, Elvis Black Stars now stand on their own two feet.

With sold-out concerts by Customs, Balthazar, The Tellers, Addicted Kru Sound feat. Selah Sue and Intergalactic Lovers, we presented a few Coca-Cola Sessions that got people talking in the last two seasons. In the autumn of 2011 we present, among others, Black Cassette and Elvis Black Stars.
