On 9 November it will be exactly 20 years since you could see one of the most influential hip-hop acts ever, Public Enemy, on the stage of the AB. When we saw them at work in 2007 at the SXSW festival in Texas, we heard an act that hadn't lost any of its power or essence. Their critical view of American society and the sputtering Afro-American emancipation is still flanked by beats and samples containing 80 years of black American music.

So it's high time for a new indoor passage (following their concert at the Lokerse Feesten this summer). DJ Lord replaced Terminator X in 1999 and - together with Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and the S1Ws - he'll be coming to stir up the AB. What's more, they've promised us a set with mainly work from their first 3 albums: ‘Yo! Bum Rush The Show’ (1987), ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’ (1988) and ‘Fear Of A Black Planet’ (1990)... expect a whirlwind of beats, propaganda, energy and inspiration.

Support act will be the must-see DJ Gerazzhoppa. He's everything: DJ, producer, turntablist. Established Rhyme Cut Core in the late 80's with rapper TLP; became European DMC Champion in 1991; worked together with a heap of well-known hip-hoppers and was in the news recently with the Mo & Grazz project. What's more, we're excitedly awaiting new work by DJ Grazzhoppa’s DJ Big Band. In the meantime he'll be willingly warming up the AB for the long-awaited Public Enemy concert.

Great show of PE but pale Tranzlate and who were the 2 chicks before them??? I had a good laugh but... where's the talent? :-( Loved it when Flav made us shout "fuck racism, fuck separatism". You should have seen the look on the face of my young Flemish neighbour... ;-) Flav for President!! Ha ha ha! :-)))

Geweldig optreden ! Te weinig hiphopgroepen brengen hiphop met live instrumenten . Heerlijke gitaarrifs van de hele PE crew. Flavor Flav kan nog drummen ook ! PE, Let's the fight the power ,Can't truss' it so Burn Hollywood Burn

Are they still claiming their bond with Farrakhan, the Islam leader? Probably not so openly as in '88... ;-) I wonder what they think of Obama... ;-) 9/11 was NO joke! Welcome to the Error-dome! ;-) Never mind! Public Enemy Number 1! Can't truss it! ;-))
