P.O.D. (Payable On Death for the intimae) scored with the singles ‘Alive’ and ‘Youth Of The Nation’ (both from the album ‘Satellite’), which were big hits here in 2001-2002. P.O.D. played a sold-out AB then, with choice bands Skindred and Ill Niño in their wake. Since then these protagonists of Christian metal from San Diego, California, have been sailing a slightly different course, in the direction of alternative metal. Their most recent album was released last September and bears the title ‘When Angels & Serpents Dance’.
Filter we know here mostly from the track ‘Hey Man Nice Shot’ from the debut album ‘Short Bus’, which already dates from 1995. 13 years later, the fourth studio album ‘Anthems For The Damned’ is now in stores. This metal band was established in 1993 by singer Richard Patrick and guitarist Brian Liesegang. The latter left the band in ’97 and the current line-up currently contains guitarist Mitchell Marlow, bassist John Spiker and drummer Mika Fineo.
