On the eve of St Nicholas, AB will present a fine gift in the form of a truly European double-bill.

Nina Kinert is a 27 year-old science-fiction fan from Stockholm who, over the last 5 years, has managed to attract a whole heap of fans with her innovative pop. She broke through for our Northern neighbours last year with her visit to Lowlands and at the end of this year she'll be playing there at the prestigious Crossing Border festival. Her new CD ‘Red Leader Dream’ will be released on November 8 and has already been camping in our CD player for weeks now. An album for which she sought inspiration in the Star Wars trilogy but it shakes off that sort of promo-talk after the first listen. Think: the best of Bat For Lashes, Kate Bush and Cocteau Twins. Christoffer Berg providing the end-mix is no surprise, considering his track record with the likes of The Knife and Fever Ray.

When we mention The Knife we immediately remember one of the discoveries of the Reeperbahn showcase festival in Hamburg on September 11. That's where German sister/brother duo Hundreds played the house down with their mix of aforementioned The Knife and Eurythmics. Eva en Phillip Milner describe themselves as a cross-breed of the icy aesthetics of Raster-Noton and the warm melancholy of Low. A voice, a piano and minimal beats: a match made in heaven. Their album will be released here in February but AB already provides you with a foretaste.
