Under the title "Pointing the way to new music" AB and the eleven music clubs of the Club Circuit get together this concert season for an exciting series. Together they've selected 10 weekends when on each occasion another club will occupy the AB, while at the very same time the AB goes on location to that visiting club. With this project AB and the Club Circuit want to place some extra emphasis on their good relations.

The closing weekend of this project is set aside for Petrol. We can now already announce all the following names for the exchange between AB and this music club in Antwerp:

ABCLUBCIRCUIT AB @ PETROL: NID & SANCY + FILTHY DUKES + RADIOCLIT
Saturday 25 April 2009 – 11:00 pm Petrol, d'Herbouvillekaai 25, 2020 Antwerp South
Tickets: €5 before 11pm, €10 after 11pm
Tickets via FNAC 0900/00600 or www.petrolclub.be

The two DJs from Filthy Dukes know, as no other, the energy that is created when you program DJs and bands on the same evening in a club. As host to the Kill Em All nights in the Fabric in London, over the past five years they've invited the likes of James Murphy, Bloc Party, Justice, Cut Copy, Zombie Nation, Brodinski, Erol Alkan and Late Of The Pier.
With that knowledge and the assistance of the musical folk that they met there, they headed into the studio. A real studio: aside from a heap of vintage synths, the sound of their album is defined by an old mixing table that was once put together by Conny Plank (Kraftwerk). Producer Mark: “Everything’s analogue on the album…These days people make dance music on a laptop on an aeroplane! After ten years where purely digital recording has come to dominate, people yearn for that rough edge.”
On stage the Filthy Dukes work with their analog material and a live drummer, rather than hide themselves behind a laptop or a blinding light show. Their debut album Nonsense In The Dark will be out in mid March, the remix requests from White Lies, Bloc Party and Lil Wayne have already arrived...

‘Never Mind the Bootlegs, Here's Sex with Nid & Sancy’ was Nid & Sancy's debut album. The British press was wild about it and hailed them the “coolest band of the year”. A fine arrival for a duo from Ghent that, in their own land - as Galacticamendum, has almost uninterruptedly appeared in the playlist of Krapuul de Lux on Studio Brussel.
Second album 'Talk To The Machine' had to sound somewhat different (as all their equipment was stolen, they were forced to 'reinvent' themselves). This first “album of own work” resulted in their further break-through. They've evolved from fantastic, goading and hilarious mash-ups to highly infectious electro-punk. Raw, but at the same time somewhat naive. Electronica-with-a-screw-loose. Their third, “Color at the Darkest Disco”, was released in 2007. Enthusiastic reviews, again, for their electronica-beats to which funky bass and strings were added. Now it's here: the fourth album! At the end of last year Sid & Nancy shook us awake again with The Kidzzz EP. Exclusively released on vinyl, but intensively posted on all sorts of blogs. The Kiddzzz want noizzz!
One song (for the moment?) from the new record has been posted on their myspace: 'Telescope Horror'. It surfs along on the (nu-)rave wave, but then without drowning in an overdose of distortion and cut-and-paste-work. It sounds as simple as it is mature, and just before the break it sounds like Shirley -Garbage- Manson provided the vocal part: Nid & Sancy’s statement “It's not because something sounds a bit bizarre that you can't take it seriously.” would appear to be even more applicable than ever.

For the occasion, Radioclit can get the festivities started at both AB in Brussels and Petrol in Antwerp.  Originating in the Vice Magazine world, insiders know what we're talking about. As true children of the noughties, the British DJ/producer duo hammers rock-guitars onto licked electro-beats, bad-mouthed raps onto banging rock-rhythms and African vocals onto gritty dubstep. It gets called "ghetto-pop" and "bongo dance", and clubbers are loving it. Other performers know it too, they're having to queue to remix.
