Essential rock & roll from Nashville

Mona is an awesome rocking band! From out of Nashville USA, the foursome wants to conquer the world (and this summer Werchter too) with their keen songs... and they could well succeed, following in the footsteps of Kings Of Leon!? An easy comparison, certainly if you hear that the guys from Mona were mostly raised very devout (with a little furtive Creedence Clearwater Revival or The Police.)

But most especially: this is the archetype of a very tight punk-rock band that knows how to deliver catchy singles like 'Teenager', 'Listen To Your Love', 'Trouble On The Way' and also knows how to look like a young Presley or The Clash. We read on their site that 'Mona never lost a bar fight' but also that Mona is named after the grandmother of frontman Nick Brown. Contrasts to be cherished, the immortal rock 'n' roll ideal, and with Mona we know yet another band itching to ascend the throne! In jargon: 'check it out!'

Support is provided by the American band Transfer from San Diego. Their debut, ‘Future Selves’ should be in the shops soon. They have previously toured with White Lies, The Bravery and Brandon Flowers and will soon be conquering Europe alongside Mona and, in November, Kaiser Chiefs.
