Milow, Jonathan Vandenbroeck's (26) artistic figure, is a stickler. 'You Don't Know' is an amazing song. Only, according to the maker, the song didn't sound good enough on his debut album 'The Bigger Picture' (2006). So he made a new arrangement and recorded the song again... with the last of his savings, as he'd not only invested his heart and soul in the first album. He released 'The Bigger Picture' himself. The reason: too little interest from the industry. His stubbornness was rewarded and displays a performer with insight. 'You Don't Know' turned out to be a special sort of beautiful swan, that charmed every radio station. The song followed an exceptional course. It pushed 'The Bigger Picture' to gold, resulted in a sold-out ABBox in May 2007 and a spot at Rock Werchter that same year and provided Milow with three MIAs (Music Industry Awards). The deserved result of hard work, as the young man certainly doesn't rest on his laurels. Between all those major moments he's made a new album with producer Jo Francken, one that especially wasn't allowed to sound too much like the first one. 'Coming Of Age' is less sober and a heap catchier. You can hear that Milow has been playing with a band for a year and a half. The great revelation is the songs in which he sings together with Nina Babet, previously prominent with Ozark Henry and 4T4.

Douglas Firs is the singer-songwriter who'll be opening in style for a sold-out Milow concert. This Gertjan Van Hellemont is a classically trained guitarist, but is also a singer and songwriter with a fancy for the work of folks like Ryan Adams and James Taylor, the pop melodies of The Beatles, and the country blues of North Mississippi Allstars. After his shows people sometimes point out influences like Neil Young, Grant-Lee Phillips or Jackson Browne.

Oh! Looks like I waited just one day too long... I'm living abroad and had to get hold of s.o. with a credit card first to order the tickets, bank transfer is only possible within Belgium. Today I wanted to buy a ticket for Milow's show and saw it's already sold out- too bad, I'll be in Brussels anyway that week, but can't attend the concert. hoooow ... 'rimpie777' ... kzeg niks van nep ... kvind et zeer goei artiest en 'voor wat coverkes' vind ik ook nie correct. Hij Brengt ze op een eige en originele manier. Maar 21 euro is gewoon teveel. Mja, zal nog wel op één van de festivals kome die opt schema staan :p

Pfff... 21 euro voor wat coverkes te horen... Die denkt dat de wereld à zijn voeten ligt... Kijk ns naar al die nep-idolen een paar jaar na hun ontdekking... Is niet van goud maar van plastic CriticalAcclaim ;-)
