AB and RAT RECORDS – the label of multi-facetted jazz-drummer TEUN VERBRUGGEN and BRUNO VANSINA – get together. So it happens that RAT RECORDS will present four concert-evenings in our ABClub in the coming AB-season. Teun Verbruggen is certainly no AB-unknown. Last year he appeared on stage with his well-known JEF NEVE TRIO and also with JOSÉ JAMES. In a slightly less recent past, with OTHIN SPAKE, he shared a stage with Mike Patton and John Zorn and with FLAT EARTH SOCIETY he opened for Fantômas. Already certain to appear at RAT RECORDS EVENT # 2: MAURO PAWLOWSKI + BRUNO VANSINA & BAND

8:00 pm : Mauro Pawlowski
Mauro and jazz? Oh, sure. Mauro plays with the likes of drummer Teun Verbruggen in OTHIN SPAKE, with whom he already appeared on stage at the prestigious North Sea Jazz in the company of pianist Fred Van Hove. Mauro is also at home in improv. You're wondering if Mauro will be performing this evening solo or with a band? Who knows? But a dizzying trip into the universe is guaranteed.

9:30 pm : Bruno Vansina & band
Solo-project in the form of a band, from jazz-musician Bruno Vansina who tackles it very adventurously this time. He 'rocks' it under the working-title 'Demons Of Shame'. Improvisation all-round, and with vocals this time. On a drunken man's night he suddenly dreamt: "This is what I always wanted to do but never had the guts to really do it until one day I looked at myself and said ... hey ... what's wrong with you!". It has been noted.
