Een ongeëvenaarde LCD gisteren in de Vooruit met een zeer goedgemutste James. Het begon een beetje stroef maar na een keiharde versie (in de Vooruit kijken ze blijkbaar niet naar een decibel meer of minder) van "Daft Punk is playing at my house" ging de boel helemaal loos, tot en met een (tijdelijke) inname van het podium door het publiek. Dit spoorde de band aan om ook helemaal loos te gaan. Drummen bij LCD is volgens mij een Olympische discipline !! Perfect concert 09/10.

I missed the support due to Brussels traffic .. but got there 15 mins before LCD got onstage.. they started stormily with James Murphy berating the AB crowd after a couple of numbers for it's relative silence and lack of participation as well as the giving it some to the Belgian regulations regarding noise pollution (he wasn't as loud as he wanted to be).. a coin thrower in the audience also drew some ire from Murphy and the brilliant Nancy Whang.. Besides the staged or not grumpiness the sound was brilliant with a set list touching on every period of LCD's back catalogue. Gradually (from Daft Punk onwards) the atmosphere built and some a good portion of the AB crowd were dancing / moshing for joy as the LCD used built up the noise and the groove like ravers of old (admittedly ravers with a very punk attitude). By the end of night Murphy had the crowd in the palm of his hand and the encore was very moving .. including a magnificent performance the rarely played and obviously very personal song "Someone Great". All in all a fantastic concert.. one of the best I'm been to in a long time.
