Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are a trio of musicians from Kentish Town (Camden, London). Their musical tastes meet in all things roots, where traditional music was often still played in family circles and so over several generations it developed a unique sound. You can't pigeonhole this music to one particular genre and that's what makes of these 2 sisters and brother a unique amalgam. Their instruments change hands the whole time too: piano, lapsteel, banjo, ukulele, accordion and trombone, just to name a few. They're supported live by 3 extra musicians: ex-Raincoats-drumster Ingrid Weiss (or ma Kitty, Daisy & Lewis) on contrabass, Daddy Grazz on acoustic guitar, and the legendary Jamaican trumpet player Eddie ‘Tan Tan’ Thornton.

Their second studio album ‘Smoking In Heaven’ again contains an entire series of influences with that typical KD&L hallmark and it was again recorded in their home studio (where you will only find vintage analogue equipment).

"A wonderful album: passionate exuberant and fun" (The Guardian ****)
"That the three have 'it', is proved by 'Paan Man Boogie' (which does indeed boogie), the long Hammond-outro of 'Baby Don't You Know' (aims straight for the midriff) and the sunny/tottering ska of 'I'm So Sorry' and 'Tomorrow', that simply carry you away to the dusty shanty towns of Kingston." (HUMO **)

The Sharp Tongues is the band formed around the Canadian singer/guitarist Julia Muth. She is accompanied by the brothers Stewart and Paul Summers and her music contains elements of garage bands such as The Monks and The Cramps, as well as The Buzzcocks and The Modern Lovers. Such artists as Tweak Bird, Dan Sartain, The Greenhornes (= ½ Raconteurs) and of course Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are already fans. How about you?
